Second day of BTS ‘Arirang’ KL presale sells out within three hours, restricted-view seats available tomorrow

4 June 2026 at 08:33

Malay Mail

KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — The ticketing battle for the upcoming BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’ in Kuala Lumpur continued for its second consecutive day today and allocated tickets were fully sold out within three hours.

The Live Nation Presale, which began at 11am today, kicked off with 900,000 online users joining the queue. However, by 12pm, the number had risen to 1 million and by 1pm, it had dwindled to just over 200,000 with several categories, including VIP, Cat 1 and Cat 2, already sold out.

At around 2pm, concert promoter Live Nation Malaysia took to its X and Instagram accounts to announce that all allocated tickets had sold out for the day while adding that Restricted View (RV) seats would be added for both days of the concerts.

The RV seats will be available during the General On-Sale, which commences tomorrow from 11am.

ARMY in Malaysia, you did that! Live Nation Presale is officially SOLD OUTThank you for the incredible support!

But we’re not done yet! ARMY,?, the GENERAL ONSALE is happening TOMORROW!

Despite the heavy traffic, today proved to be a smoother experience for fans compared to yesterday, when the ARMY Membership Presale saw around 1.3 million users flocking to the waiting room, with all ticket allocations being fully snatched up within five hours.

Today also marked the launch of the Trip.com presale, featuring specially curated accommodation packages which include BTS in KL concert tickets for travelling fans.

These packages, which are priced between RM1,718 and RM2,087, allow concertgoers to not only catch all seven BTS members live on stage but also fully immerse themselves in the Kuala Lumpur city experience.

Meanwhile, as yesterday’s presale was marred by rampant scalping and reselling activities online, with tickets already being offered for resale within the first hour, GoLive Asia, the official authorised ticketing platform for BTS in KL, said via Instagram that any tickets associated with suspicious accounts may be cancelled and voided.

“To safeguard the integrity of the ticket sales process, any tickets associated with accounts flagged for suspicious, fraudulent, or prohibited activity may be cancelled and voided without prior notice.

“Any voided tickets will be returned to the available inventory and released during subsequent sales, helping to ensure equitable access and a fair opportunity for genuine fans to purchase tickets.

“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in supporting a fair ticketing environment for everyone. Thank you,” GoLive Asia wrote on Instagram today.

A brief check on social media platforms such as X and Threads showed that reselling activities were still rampant today.

Although most of the resellers would require interested parties to leave them a direct message for pricing, at least one user on X was seen offering Cat 7 tickets for RM400, a mark-up from its initial RM338 price.

Meanwhile, resellers on online marketplace Carousell were also rampant, with one seen offering Cat 6 tickets, initially priced at RM438, for RM600.

Today marked the last presale day for BTS World Tour ‘Arirang’ in KL while the general on-sale will begin tomorrow, June 5, from 11am.

Taylor Swift becomes youngest woman inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame

NEW YORK, June 12 — Taylor Swift yesterday became the youngest woman ever inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame, another milestone in the 36-year-old US pop star’s record-breaking career.

The female record was previously held by Carole Bayer Sager, who was 43 when she joined in 1987. Stevie Wonder remains the youngest person ever admitted, at age 32 in 1983.

Artists become eligible for the Hall of Fame 20 years after the release of their first commercial track. For Swift, that was Tim McGraw, released in June 2006.

Her success since is undeniable: the American artist has recorded 12 albums spanning country, pop, and folk, earning her 14 Grammy Awards in the United States, including four Album of the Year trophies — a record.

“Swift’s ability to shapeshift as a songwriter, to inhabit different sonic landscapes and write as credibly in the world of one genre as she does another is part of her superpower as a songwriter,” reads her bio on the Hall of Fame website.

“It also represents the boldness and bravery of her artistry: to explore new frontiers when the most practical next step would be to keep mining the material that has gotten you the success in the first place.”

Swift appeared on the red carpet in New York yesterday wearing a strapless black dress with floral motifs ahead of the naming ceremony.

‘Great honour’

Also inducted yesterday were Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, the band behind hits such as Rock and Roll All Nite and Detroit Rock City.

“It doesn’t suck,” Stanley told AFP when asked how it felt to join the prestigious songwriting ranks.

“It’s really hard to digest the idea. I certainly don’t consider myself in that rarified air of some of the writers, but if you wanna be in that club, I’m there.”

Kenny Loggins, the hitmaker behind movie soundtrack classics like Footloose and Danger Zone from Top Gun, was inducted into the Hall of Fame as well.

“It’s a great honour and I appreciate it,” Loggins told AFP. “It’s the culmination of a lifetime writing, and that’s exciting for me.”

Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, inescapable in the 1990s, and American record producer Walter Afanasieff were also among the total of nine songwriters joining the Hall of Fame this year.

Estimates put Taylor Swift’s worldwide sales at over 250 million album-equivalents. Her most recent tour in 2023 and 2024, titled “The Eras Tour,” brought in a record sum of around two billion dollars.

She is also the female artist with the most songs ever to reach the top 10 list compiled by Billboard, the leading US music magazine.

Swift is omnipresent in the media. After unveiling a country track for the soundtrack of the film Toy Story 5, she was at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday for a game of the NBA Finals. — AFP

Somebody check on the millennials: F✦FOREVER (F4) set for two-night KL concert this August

12 June 2026 at 05:06

Malay Mail

KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 — For fans who spent the early 2000s swooning over Meteor Garden and singing along to Meteor Rain, the wait is almost over.

Asian supergroup F FOREVER (F4) is bringing its highly anticipated F FOREVER 1st World Tour to Kuala Lumpur for a two-night stand this August.

Organised by Live Nation Malaysia, the group will perform at the Unifi Arena on August 7 and 8, 2026, with both shows scheduled to begin at 8pm.

Members Jerry Yan, Van Ness Wu and Vic Chou — joined by Ashin from Taiwanese rock band Mayday — will take the stage on a 360-degree, four-directional star-shaped extending platform designed to maximise fan interaction.

Ken Chu is absent from the F FOREVER line-up, with Taiwanese media reports linking his non-participation to an alleged disagreement with B’in Music.

Ashin, who has been widely credited as the driving force behind F4’s reunion, was included in the touring line-up to complete the quartet.

The F FOREVER tour kicked off with four shows in Shanghai last December before continuing in Chengdu in January, and later in Shenzhen and Wuhan in March.

The South-east Asian leg of the tour was unveiled in April, with Kuala Lumpur joining Manila, Bangkok and Singapore on the itinerary.

Originally comprising Yan, Wu, Chou and Chu, F4 was formed in 2001 following the runaway success of Taiwanese idol drama Meteor Garden (2001–2002), in which the quartet portrayed a clique of wealthy, privileged students known collectively as F4.

For many across Asia, the group became synonymous with the Mandopop boom of the early 2000s, with heartfelt ballads and infectious pop anthems that continue to resonate with fans decades later.

Newer releases, including Forever Forever and Always Be My Bro, have also found an audience, bridging generations of listeners who grew up during Mandopop’s golden era.

Although the group officially disbanded in 2009, they delighted fans with a surprise reunion performance during Mayday’s concert at the Taipei Dome in July 2025.

General ticket sales will begin on June 25, 2026, at 12pm, via BookMyShow Malaysia.

For the latest updates, fans can follow Live Nation Malaysia’s official social media channels.
