The 1967 Plymouth Barracuda launched the car's second generation with a complete redesign. Sharing its A-body platform with the Valiant, it featured distinct "Coke bottle" styling and was offered in three iconic body styles: Fastback, Notchback Hardtop, and Convertible.
Kashmir is a fastback - the flagship look of the generation, known for its massive wraparound rear glass.
Engine options included a base 225 cubic-inch (3.7L) Slant-6 engine producing 145 hp.
Two small block V8 273 CID LA-series V8s were available (a 2-barrel with 185 hp and a 4-barrel with 235 hp). The big block V8 (Formula S) was. introduced mid-year, a 383 CID big-block V8 capable of 280 hp. It required the Formula S trim and turned the car into a formidable drag-strip contender.
The car was praised for its roomy trunk and solid power, especially with the 273 and 383 engine options. However, the "Formula S" package was highly recommended for serious drivers. It included stiffer ride rates, larger-diameter torsion bars, and heavy-duty rear leaf springs to combat body roll and the nose-heavy weight of the big-block V8.

Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
With stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
Sit with elders of a gentle race
This world has seldom seen
Talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace
Whose sounds caress my ear
And not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Ooh, oh, baby, I've been flying
No, yeah, mama, there ain't no denying
Oh, ooh, yeah, I've been flying
Mama, mama, ain't no denying, no denying
