Some crime dramas are about power. Others are about territory, blood, loyalty, old grudges, and people in wood-paneled rooms making decisions that will absolutely ruin someone’s day. This one seems to be operating very much in that second lane. As part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview Event for Summer 2026, we have a new look at MGM+’s upcoming crime drama, and it’s exactly the kind of image reveals the unsettling nature of one of the show's biggest crime bosses.

When it comes to the next big Steven Spielberg project, right now, everyone is looking towards the skies for his new UFO movie Disclosure Day. Premiering in theaters in exactly one month on June 12, the star-studded blockbuster, led by an ensemble featuring Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Eve Hewson, Colin Firth, and Colman Domingo, marks the beloved director's long-awaited return to sci-fi for a story that feels quite prescient. It's also a reunion with Jurassic Park writer David Koepp, though, unlike that dinosaur classic, this large-scale production is not based on any pre-existing material, and its secrets are being kept close to the vest. However, as the countdown to its arrival continues, one of the director's more underrated films is getting some exciting attention.

After two seasons of medical chaos, emotional overload, impossible choices, and doctors trying to survive one punishing day at a time, HBO Max’s hit drama is already preparing for its next round of emergencies. And now, thanks to Noah Wyle, fans know exactly when Season 3 will take place.

Musical biopics are difficult to get right. Usually, they're under so much pressure to please fans that they bend the truth or leave out key facts, flattening complex lives into neat, digestible arcs. Rather than being real flesh-and-blood people with deep flaws alongside their talents, their subjects are more often like waxworks at Madame Tussauds (a charge that some have leveled at the recently released Michael).

For roughly a decade, Titus Welliver's been a steady presence on TV thanks to Bosch, which eventually blossomed into a full-fledged franchise. Now he's slated to star as yet another law enforcement officer in the upcoming MGM+ series The Westies. The series officially premieres July 12, 2026, with MGM+ positioning it as one of the network’s biggest crime dramas of the summer.

These films, particularly those rooted in the horror genre, capitalize on a primal fear that transforms a safe haven into a lethal trap.
