For better or for worse, Zack Snyder has made a name for himself with films that have impressive visuals, meticulous montages, and unforgettable soundtracks. Though sometimes an acquired taste, all of these elements came together magnificently in the 2009 feature film adaptation of Watchmen. An ambitious film for any director, Watchmen was adapted from Alan Moore’s graphic novel that questions fascism and the hero worship of superheroes in a complex and immersive tome. Adapting one of the best graphic novels to date would be a high order for anyone, which could have been the reason that Watchmen didn’t find its audience early on. In recent years, however, the film has become more embraced by audiences who were admittedly too hard on it at first.

Season 2 ofDune: Prophecy is in the middle of production and has added a handful of actors to its already sprawling cast, including Indira Varma, Tom Hollander, and Ashley Walters — so now marks the perfect time to catch up on the HBO Max series, especially while you’re waiting for Dune: Part Three to hit theaters this winter. In an interview last month with Collider, star JoshHeuston teased that Season 2 will be bigger in scale with grander fights and storylines.

2026 hasn’t exactly been a picture-perfect start to the year for Jason Statham, especially after his first action movie bombed at the box office under the weight of its $50 million budget. Statham will have a chance at redemption this August for another action thriller, Mutiny, which co-stars Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders). As part of our Exclusive Preview Event here at Collider, we recently debuted a hot new image from Mutiny ahead of its August 21 release date. Statham will also return to his signature role as Adam Clay early next year in The Beekeeper 2, which is a direct sequel to the 2024 action smash hit directed by David Ayer. Ayer is not returning to direct The Beekeeper 2 due to a prior commitment to helm Heart of the Beast, an action thriller starring Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons.

The days of Paramount+ as a standalone streaming service may already be numbered. With Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery moving closer to completing their blockbuster merger, executives have made it clear that they don’t intend to keep Paramount+ and HBO Max operating separately forever. Instead, the plan is to bring the two services together, creating a larger platform with more than 200 million subscribers and a library capable of competing with Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+.

The Pitt was a certified home run for HBO Max the second it premiered on the service, becoming one of both the production company and the streaming platform's biggest hits of all time. Season 2 pulled in even more viewers than the Emmy-sweeping first outing, and for good reason, especially since it introduced even more new characters to the Pittsburgh emergency room that are destined to become new fan-favorites. From the professional-yet-complicated Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) to new med student Joy Kwon (Irene Choi), the Noah Wyle show's ambitions to have a rotating roster of medical professionals seems like a foolproof plan, even if it makes saying goodbye to characters like Dr. Heather Collins (Tracy Ifeachor) and Dr. Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh) that much harder.
