Netflix's 10-Part Crime Thriller Is the Perfect Weekend Binge for Detective Fans

Crime dramas rise and fall based on two key factors: atmosphere and momentum, so if you create an exceptional experience in both categories, there will be many actors who successfully take on roles in those same series, regardless of similar facts within other series. Netflix’s Strongest ‘White Lotus’ Rival Is a 10/10 Weekend Binge

HBO has released plenty of shows from various genres over the last few years, but few have become as popular as The White Lotus. The critically acclaimed HBO drama show didn’t even need a full season under its belt to accrue some big-time stars — Season 1 features performances from Sydney Sweeney, Alexandra Daddario, Murray Bartlett, and Steve Zahn. The White Lotus has become so popular that HBO has since released two new seasons of the show following the conclusion of Season 1, and a fourth is already confirmed to be on the way. Writer/director/producer Mike White has confirmed that he is shooting The White Lotus in France right now, and while an official release date has not been set, all signs point to it airing before the end of 2027.

Netflix's 5-Part Comedy Series Is as Close to Perfect as the Genre Gets

Love them or hate them, documentaries take themselves seriously when they dive deep into hefty material. From a jaunt through history to a grim true crime investigation, it might seem like a difficult genre to parody, but then came a character perfectly suited to mock through satire: Philomena Cunk. Before Netflix got its hold on Diane Morgan’s impeccable character, she had been lovingly terrorized British audiences for years. Then, Cunk on Earth arrived with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, and the world has never been the same.
