America’s Next Netflix Lawsuit: Tyra Banks Slams Streamer Over ‘Reality Check’ Docuseries’ “False Narrative”

All good things must come to an end, and Stranger Thingsis no exception. Netflix's hit science fiction series aired its super-sized finale at the beginning of 2026, and in the process brought an end to one of its biggest hits...or so fans thought. Netflix has been eager to continue expanding the Stranger Things franchise in different forms with Stranger Things: Tales From '85, an animated series that takes place between Seasons 2 and 3, and Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a stage play that expands upon the origins of the villainous Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower). Creators Ross & Matt Duffer even managed to recapture some of Stranger Things' magic by producing Netflix's latest sci-fi hit, The Boroughs.

Netflix’s international crime machine has always had a weapon most streamers would kill for, and that’s Money Heist. While films like Dog Day Afternoon set the initial standard for heist films, nothing has become as huge as Money Heist. It’s so big that it has become impossible for this show not to cross one’s mind after the word “heist” is spoken out loud.

Lawyers for Nick Ut have filed a detailed legal submission to a court in France, which will hear a criminal defamation case brought against Netflix and the VII Foundation over claims made in The Stringer documentary.

Nicolas Winding Refnis a filmmaker who has attracted as much criticism as he has praise, but nothing he’s ever been involved with could be accused of being dull. Refn’s polarizing style of highly mannered, methodical neo-noir storytelling might not be for everyone, but it’s hard to argue that he doesn’t have an eye for craftsmanship and can make visually arresting sequences. The prestige era of television has seen more movie directors dip their toes into the medium, and Refn first attempted to make that transition with his divisive Prime Video neo-Western Too Old To Die Young. Although that show had production values as excellent as one might expect from Refn, it felt closer to a collection of experimental movies than a cohesive series. However, Refn’s now-forgotten Netflix series Copenhagen Cowboyis a wonderful modern noir with striking narrative and aesthetic choices.

Mike Flanaganhas distinguished himself as one of the great modern horror creatives, and he’s not limited to just one medium. Although Flanagan got his start making low-budget horror films, he later struck up a deal with Netflix and has made some of the best miniseries on the streamer. Flanagan has consistently proven himself an expert at adapting Stephen King, as he has both shown reverence for the source material and been willing to put his own spin on the stories. However, Flanagan’s best series to date was based on a legendary work by Edgar Allan Poe and still managed to earn King’s seal of approval.
