For most of its run, NCIS has preferred stability, with characters coming and going, but the Major Case Response Team's structure has rarely changed. There was always a clear hierarchy, familiar faces in the bullpen, and Leon Vance overseeing everything. Season 24 may be about to break that pattern.

After the bittersweet exit of Gibbs (Mark Harmon) four years ago, NCIShas settled into a rhythm that we've recognized as the new normal, with Parker (Gary Cole) taking on the leadership position and the rest of the core team remaining the same. Even though there have been some tragic losses since, including the irreplaceable Ducky (David McCallum) and the newest heartbreak of saying farewell to Vance (Rocky Carroll), there hasn't necessarily been a major addition to the team since Parker. But as Season 24 is confirmed, Wilmer Valderrama (who plays Torres) spoke to People and teased a major shake-up in the team dynamics going forth. After four years, we may just be getting a new face, one that will undoubtedly disrupt the new normal we've gotten used to.
