Kingdom Hearts fans have become experts at surviving on scraps. Since Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced in 2022, every screenshot, anniversary message, and cryptic social media post has been dissected for clues about where Sora's story is headed next. That long drought finally ended during today's Nintendo Direct, which featured a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 and confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel is also headed to Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Ever since the original Kingdom Hearts released in 2002, one of the biggest draws of the series has been discovering which Disney worlds Sora will visit next, and the results have been varying from the inevitable to out of left field. While a recent trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 has given fans a better look at Quadratum and the game's more realistic direction, Square Enix remains tight-lipped about which Disney properties will make the final cut. Since Kingdom Hearts 3's 2019 release, Disney's catalog has only continued to grow, while decades of beloved movies, television series, and theme park attractions remain untouched by the franchise. That leaves no shortage of possibilities for where the beloved trio of Sora, Donald, and Goofy could travel next.
