KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 β€”Β Police are tracking four men suspected of stealing cables along the side of the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) here after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said police detected a viral video at about 5 pm yesterday showing several individuals believed to be stealing cables from a manhole along the highway.

β€œWe received a report on the incident from a local man last Thursday, who stated that at about 1.30 pm, he stopped his vehicle by the roadside and noticed a grey Honda Odyssey bearing a false registration number at the location,” he said in a statement today.

Khairul Anuar said the complainant managed to record the incident before lodging the report and the case is being investigated under Section 431A of the Penal Code and Section 235 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. β€” Berbana

Nine‑year‑old boy dies after fall from 13th‑floor apartment in Ampang, police probe negligence

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 β€” A nine-year-old boy died after he is believed to have fallen from the 13th floor of an apartment in Taman Cahaya, Ampang, yesterday.

Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said they received information regarding the incident from a woman at about 7.45pm after she found the victim unconscious.

β€œPreliminary investigations found that the boy was believed to have been left alone at home at the time of the incident,” he said in a statement today.

He said the boy was confirmed dead at the scene by an assistant medical officer from the Ampang Hospital.

Following the incident, Khairul Anuar said police have recorded statements from five individuals, comprising the boy’s parents and family members as well as witnesses.

He said the boy’s body was taken to the Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem to identify the cause of death, and that the case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001. β€” Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 β€” Eight individuals, including the parents of a nine-year-old boy who died after falling from the 13th floor of an apartment in Taman Cahaya Ampang on Sunday, have had their statements recorded to assist investigations.

According to Sinar Harian, Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said the investigation is ongoing and the case remains under probe.

β€œSo far, eight people have given their statements,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.

He added that the post-mortem on the victim had been completed at Ampang Hospital.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, involved a nine-year-old boy who was found dead after reportedly being alone at home.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
