Nicolas Winding Refnis a filmmaker who has attracted as much criticism as he has praise, but nothing heβs ever been involved with could be accused of being dull. Refnβs polarizing style of highly mannered, methodical neo-noir storytelling might not be for everyone, but itβs hard to argue that he doesnβt have an eye for craftsmanship and can make visually arresting sequences. The prestige era of television has seen more movie directors dip their toes into the medium, and Refn first attempted to make that transition with his divisive Prime Video neo-Western Too Old To Die Young. Although that show had production values as excellent as one might expect from Refn, it felt closer to a collection of experimental movies than a cohesive series. However, Refnβs now-forgotten Netflix series Copenhagen Cowboyis a wonderful modern noir with striking narrative and aesthetic choices.

Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 hammers down the line as it nears Claypool, Indiana. Seen here as the massive 4-8-8-4 is about to roll under IN-15 road bridge.

About an hour and half out after leaving Chicago, Union Pacific #4014 rolls through the windy Indiana farmland as it heads to its first whistle stop in Argos, Indiana. This was the first time the massive 4-8-8-4 "Wasatch" type steam engine left Union Pacific trackage, as the locomotive's great journey east to Philadelphia, Pennsylivana, would be on Norfolk Southern trackage.
Also interesting to note, the small town of Argos, IN, in 2020 had a census count of around 1,777. When UP 4014 rolled stopped in town, the population swelled up to 10,000 people. Thank god I drove around that mess.
