As the fantasy genre has grown more popular, it's also gotten darker, but there are exceptions to every rule. Rather than giving in to the conventions, one bold 2016 series blends fantasy elements with a sitcom's tone, proving that this rare genre combination can work surprisingly well. With this choice, The Good Placeforges its own path and is now one of the best series on Hulu. The recognizable cast, laugh-out-loud moments, and shocking reveals work together to make the series an addictive binge-watch perfect for anyone willing to embrace the outlandish premise and just have a good time.

Few franchises are as popular as Star Wars, and there's good reason for that. However, even within this universe, its most well-known stories aren't necessarily the best. Despite initial backlash, the Star Wars prequel trilogy has experienced a major shift in recent years, particularly Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, which is earning retrospective appreciation from fans. Yet as great as that movie is, its prequel seriesis better.

After Superman captured everyone's attention last summer, it's now Supergirl's turn. This summer, the character will star in the next DCU film, but as Supergirl approaches, there is only one series to watch in anticipation. While it has been a while since Supergirl got her own film, she led a 2015 TV series, where fans can get to know the character. The CW's Supergirltells a different version of Kara's story, but with key elements of the character's story, it is the perfect way to prepare for the film's release.

Hulu is filled with incredible shows, ranging from the critically acclaimed dramedy The Bear to the terrifying dystopian drama The Handmaid's Tale. However, among the many options, one series has been unfairly overlooked. Black Cake may not have been a long-lasting hit, but the suspenseful mystery thriller deserves more recognition than it received. Despite its overwhelmingly positive reviews, the 2023 series quickly faded from public discussion, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth watching now.

Video game adaptations are becoming more common, with The Last of Us, Fallout, and Arcane among the most notable examples in recent years. However, one stellar adaptation preceded all of those shows when it premiered in 2017. Netflix's epic animated series, Castlevania,is based on the 1989 video game Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, but it incorporates elements from other games in the series. This places the show at the early end of the trend, and yet, even without many examples to learn from, Castlevania became one of the best video game adaptations, averaging a 94% on the Tomatometer over its four seasons.
