The U.S. is filled with landmarks that have infamous histories; 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York, the notorious house from The Amityville Horror; a secret U.S. Air Force military installation in southern Nevada, associated with rumors of clandestine experiments and secrets about alien life, aka Area 51. But maybe none has the infamy of the long-abandoned United States Penitentiary in the San Francisco Bay, known as "The Rock" — or in this case, Alcatraz.

The Simpsons has been a pillar of the TV industry for over three decades, and now the changing tides of the streaming era are finally beginning to reshape it. The Simpsons are a major selling point for Disney+, as it's the only subscription-based service where fans can binge and re-watch the iconic series. In turn, this instant availability helped restore The Simpsons' place in the public consciousness to some extent, earning the series a massive four-season renewal last year. Now, each season includes a few "Disney+ specials," which are only available on the streamer and never air on Fox. It's the clearest sign of the traditional broadcast model's decline — at least when it comes to entertainment.

Help for Parkinson’s patients in the Rio Grande Valley

Seek appropriate care. Dr. CJ Martínez-Menéndez, a neurologist at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, emphasizes that Parkinson’s treatment is a team effort. Finding a neurologist is the first step; ask for a referral to a movement disorders specialist, physical therapists and occupational therapists, and possibly a psychiatrist or psychologist for emotional support.

Join a support group. Two hospital systems — South Texas Health System and DHR Health System — hold monthly meetings. Another group meets at Siesta Retirement Village in Weslaco, Texas. Myla Garza, a Parkinson’s patient, encourages people not to be “afraid” of the diagnosis. “There are many things that can improve your quality of life,” she says.

Explore online resources. The Michael J. Fox Foundation and the Parkinson’s Foundation offer free, reliable information to help patients and families understand and cope with the disease. The Parkinson’s Foundation also operates a toll-free helpline (1-800-473-4636) available in English and Spanish.

Over the last few years, Alan Ritchson has quietly become one of the most popular action stars working in Hollywood today. Kitakitsune Milk celebrates the charm of Hokkaido with kawaii style. 

Japan’s northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido is famous for many things, including high-quality milk, thanks to the region’s many dairy farms, and the indigenous Ezo red fox, known locally as the “kitakitsune” (“northern fox”).

Both these renowned claims-to-fame are now being honoured in a new Krispy Kreme product called the “Krispy Kreme Premium Hokkaido Kitakitsune Milk“.

The “Krispy Kreme Premium Hokkaido” series is a line of premium doughnuts developed with a focus on Hokkaido’s ingredients, local products, and culture. According to the chain, the kitakitsune doughnut is a limited-edition exclusive that once appeared in Hokkaido three years ago, but now it’s back with an even cuter expression and an updated flavor that truly captures the essence of Hokkaido.

This new version features a fluffy dough filled with smooth milk cream made with Hokkaido milk and covered in a rich, pudding-flavoured coating. Dark chocolate is used to faithfully recreate the fox’s slightly upturned, almond-shaped eyes, and coffee-flavoured chocolate is used to represent the tiny nose. The whiskers are made with white chocolate, while the pointed ears are formed with the help of sesame cheese crackers, creating an adorable expression that’s true to the look of the animal.

Cute and delicious, this doughnut represents Hokkaido’s natural beauty and charm, and will only be available this summer. Just as the kitakitsune can only be found on Hokkaido, these doughnuts will also be exclusively available there, at the island’s four store locations. Sales will commence at these stores (listed below) from 3 June for a limited time., with each doughnut priced at 388 yen (US$2.44) for takeout or 396 yen for eat-in.
