Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Qanit also welcomed the chamber’s interest and stated that the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum would provide the necessary facilities, in accordance with the Mining Law and relevant procedures, to attract investment from reputable companies in Afghanistan’s mining sector.

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum stated that expanding investment in the mining sector can play a significant role in economic growth, job creation, and the effective utilization of Afghanistan’s natural resources.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, a religious scholar speaking on behalf of the community highlighted the sacrifices and resilience of Nuristan’s people throughout the period of jihad, adding that they remain steadfast in their support for the Islamic system.

He noted that due to Nuristan’s rugged terrain and the neglect of previous governments in infrastructure development and public services, the province’s residents continue to face severe deprivation and hardship.

He further pointed out that ongoing cross-border attacks by the Pakistani regime have worsened living conditions, displacing several families from their homes and villages.

The elders put forward a series of proposals and demands to address the province’s needs, including the construction of highways, schools, religious seminaries, and clinics, as well as the return of displaced families and the division of Kamdesh district into two separate districts.

In response, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi stated that over the past five years, the Islamic Emirate has approved the creation of new districts across various provinces, including two new districts in Nuristan itself, to accelerate development, improve service delivery, and better address local concerns.

He concluded by emphasizing that officials are making sustained efforts to resolve the enduring effects of war, instability, and destruction, and assured attendees that their requests and suggestions would be relayed to the relevant authorities.

The Committee for Land Distribution and Permanent Settlement of Migrants has announced that residential land plots were allocated yesterday to 1,048 returning migrant families across five provinces of the country.

Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, shared the details today, stating that according to the committee’s report, plots were distributed to 306 families in Nangarhar Province, 210 in Faryab Province, 234 in Kunduz Province, 230 in Helmand Province, and 68 returning migrant families in Zabul Province.

This initiative is part of the ongoing permanent settlement program for returnees, and the distribution process for eligible families continues.

The committee further noted that with the latest allocations, the total number of residential plots distributed has reached 35,189, and the process is progressing rapidly.

A total of 491 Afghan migrants were released from various prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar and the Spin Boldak in Kandahar.

The Ministry of Refugees’ press office reported today that, according to data from the repatriation departments of the Refugee and Repatriation Directorates in Kandahar and Nangarhar, 379 individuals entered Afghanistan via Torkham, while another 112 returned through Spin Boldak.

The returnees included families and individuals who had been detained for lacking legal residency documents. After being registered and receiving assistance, they were transferred to their home areas.

Officials from the Zabul Provincial Public Health Department have announced that a traffic accident in Shah Joy District resulted in five casualties.

Dr. Mrawis Afghan, Director of the Zabul Public Health Department, told Bakhtar News Agency that the incident occurred in the Gajoy area of Shah Joy District, leaving two people dead and three others injured.

He added that the injured were transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
He further noted that the cause of the accident was attributed to driver negligence and speeding.

According to Bakhtar News Agency, during the meeting, Ambassador Pohar—accompanied by the Directors-General of UN Women and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) for Afghanistan—affirmed the EU’s commitment to continued practical cooperation in the fields of development, education, health, climate change, and humanitarian assistance in Bamyan.

The EU Ambassador further stated that, in coordination with international organizations and under the leadership of local Bamyan authorities, the Union aims to roll out effective and sustainable projects to enhance the economic and social well-being of the province’s residents.

In response, Governor Shafiq expressed appreciation for the cooperation from the EU and UN agencies and called for tangible support in completing major unfinished infrastructure projects. These include the Bamyan–Dushi power transmission line, the completion and paving of the Bamyan–Baghlan (Dara-e Shikari) highway and the Bamyan–Dara-e Suf highway, along with several other public works.

Ambassador Pohar assured that the EU, in coordination with Bamyan’s provincial authorities and UN offices, will continue to support returning migrants in the areas of housing, education, healthcare services, and welfare facilities.

The Ministry of Interior, has announced that hundreds of new motorcycles have been distributed to police forces in Herat, Zabul, and Laghman provinces to better ensure the security of citizens and strengthen the operational capacity of the police.

According to the statement, of the total motorcycles distributed, 95 were allocated to the police in Herat province, 50 to the police in Zabul province, and several others were allocated to police forces in Laghman province.

The Ministry of Interior added that this equipment has been provided to police forces with the aim of accelerating responses to security incidents, improving urban patrols, and delivering more effective services to citizens.

The statement emphasized that, with the use of new facilities, security forces will have a stronger presence and improved readiness in urban areas, and will continue to make sustained efforts to maintain security and ensure public order.
