Urban Ministry Conducts Topographic Survey for Gardez City’s Detailed Master Plan in Paktia

According to a press release issued today by the ministry, the survey covered significant portions of the city to gather precise data for urban development and to support the creation of a standardized, detailed plan.

The Survey and GIS Directorate further stated that, based on the collected data, a well-organized and technically sound master plan for Gardez City will be prepared in line with established standards and requirements.

This initiative marks a crucial and foundational step toward the orderly growth of Gardez, the enhancement of public services, and the modern expansion of urban infrastructure in the provincial capital of Paktia.

Protection of Historical Heritage Is a Shared Duty of State and Nation, Affirms Ghazni Governor

Mullah Wali Jan Hamza, the Governor of Ghazni, has visited several historical sites in the province and stressed that both the government and the public share the responsibility for their protection and preservation.


According to Bakhtar News Agency, the Governor, accompanied by Hamidullah Nisar, Director of Information and Culture for the province, toured a number of historic landmarks, including the ancient minarets, the mausoleum of Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni, the tomb of Hakim Sanai, the shrine of Bahlul Sahib, and the historic Baba Ji Mosque.

During the visit, the Governor underscored the importance of ensuring proper and maintenance and safeguarding of these sites.

The Director of Information and Culture provided detailed briefings on the identity and historical significance of Ghazni’s heritage landmarks and called on the authorities of the Islamic Emirate to pay serious attention to the restoration and rehabilitation of several historical monuments in the province.

Governor Hamza described Ghazni’s historical monuments as symbols of the nation’s cultural and historical identity, reiterating that protecting them is a collective obligation of both the state and the people.

He further noted that Decree No. 1 issued by esteemed Mawlavi Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, concerning the protection of the country’s historical sites, must be implemented with full seriousness. He also pledged that no effort would be spared in preserving and restoring the historical monuments of Ghazni Province.

The Jalalabad–Torkham Highway serves as a critical and bustling economic and transit artery for the nation. It plays an indispensable role in transporting commercial goods, handling imports and exports, and moving agricultural produce across the region.

On completion, the project is expected to significantly ease travel, slash transportation costs, and bolster trade exchanges between Afghanistan and neighboring countries.

Sources told Bakhtar News Agency that construction work has commenced on a dried fruit market in the Sarqad area of Aybak city, the capital of Samangan province, by national traders at a cost of $2 million.

Sources added that the market will be constructed on three floors and will include 200 shops, as well as parking space for 400 vehicles. The project is scheduled to be completed within two years and handed over for use.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met with officials of the private company Afghan Invest to review the progress of major infrastructure and mining projects.


According to a statement from the Economic Deputy Office, company officials reported that work on the 500-kilovolt Sheberghan–Dasht-e Alwan power transmission line and the expansion of the Dasht-e Alwan substation is nearing completion and is expected to be operational within the next four months.

The officials also highlighted progress in the exploration of the second block of the lead and zinc mine in Tolak district of Ghor province, stating that the remaining work will be completed within the designated timeframe with the support of Afghan and foreign specialists.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, commended the company’s efforts and emphasized that, alongside the mine’s exploration activities, work should also begin on the construction of a mineral processing plant and the provision of the electricity required for its operation.

He further assured the company of the government’s full cooperation in implementing the projects.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce has invited Uzbek investors to invest in the establishment of textile factories, mineral processing facilities, and pharmaceutical production units in Afghanistan during a meeting with the Governor of Namangan Province of Uzbekistan.


The press office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce stated that Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held discussions with Shavkat Abdurazakov, Governor of Namangan Province of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The two sides exchanged views on enhancing trade relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, as well as facilitating the export of Afghan products to Uzbekistan, particularly cotton and coal.

The Afghan Minister also invited Uzbek investors to invest in the establishment of textile factories, mineral processing facilities, and pharmaceutical production units in Afghanistan.

Accompanied by officials from the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock, as well as traders and industrialists from the cotton sector, the Afghan delegation, together with the Governor of Namangan Province, visited a cotton farm to gain practical experience in modern cotton cultivation methods and explore ways to increase yield.

The delegation also visited textile factories in the province to observe technologies and innovations used in cotton processing.

In a special ceremony, Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, along with his accompanying delegation and Shavkat Abdurazakov, Governor of Namangan Province of Uzbekistan, planted a “tree of friendship” between the two countries.

According to Bakhtar News Agency, during the ceremony, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health, described the establishment of hospitals and the equitable provision of healthcare services across the country as priorities of the ministry.

‎Mawlavi Habibur Rahman Sohaib, Deputy of Kunduz Provincial department, also stated  that the Islamic Emirate is working within its available resources to implement effective programs, including health services, for the public.

‎He added that the issues faced by residents of Kalbad district, including roads, the provision of health services, and the construction of an administrative building, have been shared with the relevant authorities, and that steps will soon be taken to address these problems.

‎Mawlavi Habibur Rahman Sohaib, Deputy of the Kunduz Provincial Department, also stated that the Islamic Emirate is working within its available resources to implement effective programs, including health services, for the public.

‎He added that the issues faced by residents of Kalbad district, including roads, the provision of health services, and the construction of an administrative building, have been shared with the relevant authorities, and that steps will soon be taken to address these problems.

‎Dr. Mohammadullah Hikmat, Director of Public Health in Kunduz, said that the hospital will have 30 beds and provide general surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology services. He added that it will be built over 1.5 years at a cost of more than 48 million Afghanis from the Islamic Emirate’s budget.

‎He further stated that, once completed, the hospital will resolve about 95 percent of the healthcare problems of residents in the district.
