[Dabanga] Amhara / Aftit Camp / Awlala Camp / Alasha Camp / -- A number of Sudanese refugees sustained injuries following an armed attack on Aftit camp in Ethiopia's Amhara province on Tuesday evening, making this the sixth incident at the camp, as fears grow over deteriorating security inside the settlement.

[Dabanga] Tobruk / Amsterdam -- The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) has confirmed that at least 17 Sudanese refugees have drowned after a shipwreck in the Mediterranean off the Libyan coast from Tobruk. UNHCR says that of the 33 people known to be on board the boat, only seven survived. Nine people are still listed as missing.

[Dabanga] Khartoum / River Nile State / Darfur / Kordofan -- Cases of dengue, malaria, meningitis, and hepatitis continue to be reported across Sudan, with perceived successes in one region offset by setbacks in others. The Federal Ministry of Health revealed a drop in the rate of dengue fever infection in most states, with the exception of River Nile state, which is witnessing an increase in cases. Malaria infections increased after a decrease in 12 states, including Khartoum, El Gezira, Northern, and River Nile.

[Dabanga] Rome / Khartoum / Darfur -- More families across Sudan are being pushed to the brink of famine as the world's largest hunger crisis worsens and aid agencies run short of funds, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has warned.

[Dabanga] Darfur -- UNICEF has warned that children in Darfur are facing a new humanitarian catastrophe, two decades after the region first drew global attention, but with far less international focus and support. The agency said violence has devastated communities and displaced millions across Sudan, leaving children once again trapped in an acute crisis.

[Dabanga] Tawila / El Obeid -- A vehicle transporting emergency shelter kits for the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR to Tawila in North Darfur, was destroyed in a drone strike in North Darfur on Friday, April 24, leaving the unhurt, but leaving more than 1,300 families without shelter. In a separate attack, at least seven people were killed, and 22 others were wounded in an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) using drones of El Obeid in North Kordofan on Saturday.

[Dabanga] Cairo -- Thirteen Sudanese and Egyptian human rights organisations have condemned the forced deportation of Sudanese writer Idris Babiker from Egypt, as well as the "harsh and inhumane detention conditions" he reportedly suffered during detention, calling for an investigation.

[Dabanga] Nyala / Um Dukhun / Zalingei -- The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) say they have carried out a series of precision military strikes across the Blue Nile, Kordofan, and Darfur over the past three days, claiming significant losses among paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) units.
