26 Years Later, Ridley Scott’s 155-Minute Epic Still Holds Up on Free Streaming

It takes a lot for a historical drama to win at the box office, especially when it doesn't even have that big a star (for the time) at the head of it. But thankfully, when Ridley Scott is your director, you need to have a bit more faith in the system and let it do its thing, because that's exactly what this utter masterpiece does.

In Just 2 Weeks, Russell Crowe Returns to Theaters With a Brutal New Action Thriller

2025 was a huge year for Russell Crowe, as he finally had the chance to bring his long-gestating WWII epic, Nuremberg, to the big screen. Nuremberg has been a passion project of Crowe’s for years, so much so that director James Vanderbilt publicly stated that, without his support, it never would have made it through the various stages of development setbacks. Crowe didn’t waste much time returning to the big screen this year for his new MMA movie, Beast, which scurried onto VOD platforms like Prime Video after grossing less than $2 million at the box office. Crowe has been hard at work this year filming his new sci-fi fantasy reboot with Henry Cavill, Highlander, but he has a new project coming to the big screen much sooner that has fans around the world buzzing.

One of the Greatest Western Remakes of All Time Is Finally Streaming Again, and It's Free

Perhaps no other director working today has done more to keep the Western alive than James Mangold. Although he's hopped from genre to genre throughout his career, the spirit of the Western is present in films as varied as Cop Land,Walk the Line, and Logan. So it's surprising that he's only directed one proper cowboy movie: 2007's 3:10 to Yuma, a remake of a 1957 adventure yarn adapted from a short story by Elmore Leonard. It seems appropriate that Mangold would remake a movie from the '50s, considering his life's mission seems to be infusing Old Hollywood classicism with New Hollywood sensibilities. And with 3:10 to Yuma, he found the perfect vehicle to express the themes that have been ever-present in his work. The film recently left Peacock, and is now streaming once again on Plex and Philo.

Hugh Jackman's Gritty Fantasy Remake Officially Arrives on June 19

Hugh Jackman has had one of the more interesting careers of any actor working consistently in Hollywood today. Jackman earned an Oscar nomination 13 years ago for his performance in Les Misérables, which co-stars Russell Crowe, but it’s not what he’s become remembered for in the larger scope of his career. Jackman has become synonymous with playing Wolverine, the jaded Marvel mutant whom he first starred as in the Fox X-Men movies before crossing over to the MCU a few years ago in Deadpool & Wolverine. Jackman first played the character more than 25 years ago in the first X-Men movie with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, and he’s expected to continue playing the clawed mutant, at least through Avengers: Secret Wars next year. Jackman has always found time for other roles, though, even between big Marvel blockbusters.
