An ugly internal power struggle in Iran is muddying mediation talks with the US, as pro-war and pro-deal factions battle it out over whether Tehran should ever surrender, sources familiar with mediation efforts tell The Post.

The military, which has roughly 15,000 troops enforcing a blockade on Iranian ports, struck an unknown number of tankers who "attempted to run the blockade."

“The ceasefire is going. It's in effect,” Trump said after the US and Iran exchanged fire.

“If the framework of issues for debate is accepted, it would trigger a 30-day window for negotiators to hammer out the details," a source familiar with mediations said.

The US and Iran are nearing an agreement on a memorandum of understanding to end their nine-and-a-half-week war.

President Trump was coy Tuesday on what would break the tenuous US-Iran cease-fire, as the United Arab Emirates came under attack for a second day.

"They will forgive, but they will never forget what Iran has done."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi did the quick turn-around after leaving Pakistan's capital without meeting with US officials Saturday, a move that prompted Trump to then swiftly cancel American negotiators' intended trip to Islamabad.

President Trump has called off sending a US delegation to Pakistan Saturday for peace talks with Iran – canceling a trip he said would be a waste of time.

US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Pakistan this weekend for additional peace talks with Iran, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Friday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will lead a "small delegation" to Islamabad, which is set to arrive around 10 p.m. local time, an Iranian source said.

The uncertainty is especially apparent in Islamabad, which hosted the first round of talks and is expected to hold the second round soon.
