Homeopathy is a placebo and could โ€˜pose a riskโ€™ to health, Spanish authorities confirm

The results provided by homeopathy โ€œdo not outperform the placebo effect,โ€ there is no scientific evidence that it is an effective treatment, and using it instead of other therapies can โ€œpose a riskโ€ to patientsโ€™ health. These conclusions, which the scientific community has maintained for decades, have now been confirmed by a report published on Tuesday by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Products (AEMPS), a state agency attached to the Ministry of Health.

It would be a panacea โ€” one that some brands and social media influencers are trying to attribute to a supplement called berberine. Theyโ€™re capitalizing on the fact that this supplement has shown some metabolic benefits, but itโ€™s not Ozempic, it doesnโ€™t work like Ozempic, and it doesnโ€™t serve the same purpose.
