Brio Magazine -- April/May 2026 -- "Becoming Elsa" Illustration
There are so many fun art challenges to participate in on social media, and one of them is Vintage Book Week! There are a group of illustrators who host it, and they choose four old children’s book covers. Participants rework them in their own style. I tend to do mine the day before the posting date for each one (talk about pressure!), so my challenge is also to do it as quickly as possible. The results always surprise even me as I don’t know what I will end up with by the end of the day!
The results for this year are below, along with the originals. I can’t wait until next year! And if you want to see all the results, go to: #vintagebookweek26 on Instagram.
I’m happy to be able to be doing some different kind of editorial work! This is a page of a new-ish series in Brio Magazine, titled, “Becoming Elsa”, written by Elsa Kok Colopy. She’s such a good writer! Check out the series in issues of Brio magazine!
I was asked to create this coloring page for the Pointe Claire, Quebec (Canada) library. It was out all fall in the children’s section of the library, where kids could pick it up to color, solve puzzles, and enjoy the unicorns! I so enjoyed creating this for the kids!
What a special and fun project to get to spend almost a year working on! I had the great pleasure to illustrate this fun Halloween-related book, written by Annie Sullivan, published by Random House Studio! It came out in August 2025 but October seemed the time to promote it. Below is the cover, and one of my promo pieces! I hope the kids enjoy this for years to come!
