A setting extending to the south-southwest to a beaver lodge (den) in Voyageurs National Park. This zoomed in view was located at an overlook along the Beaver Pond Trail.

While walking along the High Falls Via Falls Trail and exploring the Grand Portage State Park. The view extends to the east with the Pigeon River flowing through a gorge with a forest of evergreens all around. Far off in the distance, one can see a little portion of Lake Superior just above the trees with the land outcropping. The other thing to note is that the right side of the images in the United States (Minnesota), while the left side is in Canada (Ontario). I used a portrait orientation in order to capture the full depth of this park setting between two countries, from near to far.
