Katy Perry is unconditionally declaring her love for boyfriend Justin Trudeau.

The “Teenage Dream” singer gushed about the former Canadian prime minister during a Q&A session on Monday, June 8, following the premiere of her new concert film, The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris, at Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Earlier in the evening, Perry, 41, and Trudeau, 54, made their red carpet debut as a couple for the special screening.

“Every day is a fantastic journey, and every day is a chance to evolve and to be a better person and do the right thing and to be a model for your community, for your family, for your world,” Perry said during Monday’s post-screening Q&A as she reflected on her global Lifetimes Tour in 2025.

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's Relationship Timeline

“I would say now at the end of 91 shows, I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life. I am very in love,” she went on.

“Actually, that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that,” Perry added of her November 2025 tour dates in Paris, which were filmed for the concert movie. “I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite — I fly super high. Sometimes I need to be anchored, so to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”

During Monday’s Q&A, the “Roar” singer also reflected on her tough 2025, which saw her split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares daughter Daisy Dove, 5.

“Last year was probably one of the hardest years of my life and I went through a f***-ton,” she candidly revealed. “And there were days that were really, really, really hard, and I just kept going because I made a promise to my fans, I made a promise to my daughter, I made a promise to myself. And I got through it. I walked through the fire because everybody has to walk through their own fire. And if you’re walking through hell, you keep going, because on the other side of hell is definitely heaven.”

Katy Perry’s Dating History: Relive Her A-List Romances

After the tour, Perry said, “I’m different now,” explaining, “Your 20s are for emotions, your 30s are for sorting them and your 40s are for f***ing not caring about them.”

“We’re all human in here. Sadness does not discriminate, grief does not discriminate, pain does not discriminate … everybody is subjected to it in their own ways,” she added.

Perry and Bloom, 49, confirmed the end of their relationship in July 2025.

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” reps for the pair said in a joint statement to Us Weekly at the time. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

Trudeau, for his part, announced his separation from estranged wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in August 2023.

Menstrual Cycle Syncing Might Be the Body Optimization Framework You Need

9 June 2026 at 09:36

Cycle syncing has moved from wellness blogs to mainstream conversation, fueled by a femtech industry valued at $66.2 billion in 2025 and projected to reach $255.5 billion by 2035. The idea: align what you eat, how you work and how you rest with the four hormonal phases of your menstrual cycle. Some of the science is genuinely solid. Some of it is running well ahead of the research. Here’s what’s actually true.

What Cycle Syncing Is and Where It Started

The term comes from functional nutritionist Alisa Vitti, who coined it in her 2014 book WomanCode and expanded the concept in her 2020 follow-up In the FLO. The core premise is that women don’t operate on a flat 24-hour hormone rhythm the way men do.

Instead, a roughly 28-day cycle creates four distinct hormonal environments, and adjusting your habits to match those environments is the whole idea. Cycle tracking apps and social media have since turned it into one of the fastest-growing categories in women’s wellness.

Can HRT Protect Your Heart After Menopause? New Research Explains

What’s Happening in Each Cycle Phase

The menstrual phase, days one through five, is when estrogen and progesterone are at their lowest and energy tends to be too. The follicular phase, days six through 14, brings rising estrogen and returning energy. Ovulation around day 14 is when estrogen and testosterone peak together, bringing the highest energy and lowest appetite of the cycle. The luteal phase, days 15 through 28, is dominated by progesterone. Appetite climbs, energy drops and PMS symptoms can peak in the final days before the next period.

What the Research Says About Eating for Your Cycle

This is the pillar with the strongest backing. A 2024 meta-analysis in Nutrition Reviews found energy intake is significantly higher in the luteal phase than the follicular phase, driven by progesterone ramping up appetite while estrogen keeps it in check earlier in the cycle. Late-cycle cravings for carbs and comfort food are hormonal, not a character flaw.

General phase-specific guidance points to iron-rich foods during menstruation to replace what’s lost, lighter foods as estrogen rises in the follicular phase, anti-inflammatory eating around ovulation and magnesium plus B6 in the late luteal window for PMS support. The honest caveat is that large-scale trials testing specific food protocols per phase don’t exist yet. The hormonal logic is sound, but the the rigid meal rules aren’t proven.

What Is the Link Between PMOS and Insulin Resistance? Experts Explain

Cycle Syncing and Productivity

This is where cycle syncing and the research part ways most sharply. A March 2025 meta-analysis in PLOS ONE reviewed 102 studies across 3,943 participants and found no robust evidence that objective cognitive performance changes meaningfully across phases. The popular idea that women are sharper in the follicular phase and foggy in the luteal phase isn’t well supported by objective data.

But the picture isn’t that simple either. An August 2025 study in Biology from the Medical University of Gdansk found women performed significantly better on memory and attention tasks just before ovulation. And a 2025 workplace survey coauthored by Stanford Lifestyle Medicine and Auckland University of Technology found 73 percent of respondents reported reduced output during menstruation regardless of what their actual performance showed. Subjective energy and perceived capacity are real even when objective cognition isn’t measurably different.

Sleep Changes According to Cycle

This is the pillar most women notice first. Sleep quality dips around menstruation as dropping estrogen and progesterone blunt the body’s melatonin and cortisol rhythms. In the luteal phase, rising core body temperature makes it harder to fall asleep since the body needs to cool down to initiate sleep.

A February 2025 study in npj Women’s Health from MSH Medical School Hamburg found that daily routines synchronized with circadian rhythms improved health outcomes across the menstrual cycle. A Parker University pilot study is currently tracking objective sleep data across phases using wearables, with results expected in 2026.

Here's What Your Vivid Nightly Dreams Reveal About Sleep Quality

What the Science Supports Now

Hormonal shifts in appetite, energy and sleep are real and documented. The follicular phase advantage for hard workouts has some RCT support. Luteal fatigue and cravings are physiologically explained.

What isn’t proven yet: specific food rules per phase, rigid work scheduling and most app-driven recommendations. It also doesn’t apply the same way for women on hormonal birth control or those in perimenopause, when cycles become unpredictable. The most defensible version of cycle syncing is the simplest one: track your patterns, notice what changes and adjust where it actually helps.

For years, summer style has been dominated by breezy beige pants in shades of white, beige and oatmeal. But Summer 2026 is looking a lot more colorful. From bold stripes to tropical prints and cheerful gingham, statement-making pants are quickly becoming the trend fashion lovers can’t stop wearing.

Colorful pants do all the heavy lifting for an outfit, turning a basic tank or white tee into something that looks thoughtfully styled. Better yet, these 17 eye-catching pairs start at just $24, proving you don’t need a designer budget to embrace one of summer’s biggest surprises.

17 Colorful Pants That Are a Trendy Alternative to Linen

1. Our Favorite: The faux linen fabric on these pink striped capris mimics the texture of real linen without the constant wrinkling. The drawstring waist and pockets seal the deal.

2. Bold and Bright: The pink and red stripes on these flowy palazzo pants feel fresh rather than fussy, and the wide leg keeps the bold print from feeling overwhelming.

3. Boho Beauty: The multicolor stripes on these boho palazzo pants mix several shades, which means they pair easily with almost any solid top in the closet.

4. Summer Statement: A statement bottom means the rest of the outfit can stay simple. These wide-leg boho trousers turn a plain tank into something worth taking a photo in.

5. Paisley Perfection: The wide-leg cut on these paisley flowy pants skims past the hips and falls cleanly to the floor. The pink paisley print does the styling work for you.

17 Waist-Slimming Dresses to Instantly Create an Hourglass Shape

6. Cropped Classic: Full-length pants in 90-degree heat are a no-go. These loose-cropped pants hit at the ankle so air can move while still covering enough to feel pulled together.

7. Gingham Go-To’s: Built-in tummy control panels smooth the waistband on these blue gingham pants so nothing digs in. The wide leg balances out the fitted top.

8. Farmers Market-Ready: The barrel silhouette on these pink and white palazzos tapers slightly at the ankle, so they read tailored instead of sloppy — despite the flowy fabric.

9. Barrel Moment: Skinny jeans in July are not happening. The barrel cut on these gingham drawstring pants gives the legs room to breathe without looking shapeless.

10. Resort Chic: These green leaf palazzos earn their keep on resort trips: hotel breakfast, pool to bar transition, then dinner with a silk cami tucked in.

11. Tropical-Inspired: The smocked elastic waist on these tropical palazzo pants gives a clean high-rise look without buttons or zippers digging into the midsection.

12. Tummy Control: The smocked high waistband on these palazzo pants stretches without losing shape, giving real tummy control without the squeeze of shapewear.

13. Easy Breezy: The cotton-linen blend on these wide-leg palazzos breathes like pure linen but holds its shape better, so the legs stay crisp instead of clinging.

14. Comfort MVP: The elastic waist and harem cut on these baggy wide-leg pants feel like sweatpants, but the silhouette reads put-together enough to leave the house in.

15. Luxe Linen: Real linen pockets are rare at this price. These linen palazzo pants include them along with a low-waist drawstring that doesn’t dig in when you sit.

16. Effortlessly Chic: Wear these wide-leg linen pants to a gallery opening or summer happy hour, then re-wear them to the office on Monday with a tucked blouse.

17. Flowy and Fun: Wear these flowy, floral palazzos to a backyard birthday party with a white tank, then keep them on for a casual dinner out after.

Jennifer Lopez Gets Emotional About Being an Empty Nester as Twins Graduate

Jennifer Lopez is feeling emotional as she enters a new chapter in her life: empty nester.

“It’s an emotional time,” Lopez, 56, said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Monday, June 8, admitting she has been ill-prepared for her 18-year-old children to leave home. “It’s been the three of us. People have come in and out of my life, but it’s been the three of us. They’ve always been there, and I’ve always been there.”

The Office Romance star shares twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony. The kids recently graduated from high school and are preparing to go away to college in August.

Lopez continued, “I just never thought they would not be there. I just never thought that far ahead. I thought, too, that they’re so independent — I gave them roots and wings. [I thought], ‘It’s great, this is how it is … this is a healthy mom thing to do.’ And then about a couple of months ago, I just was, like, writing something for their end-of-the-school-year thing for them to put in the program at the graduation, and I just have not … every time it comes up, I just start crying. I could cry right now.”

According to Lopez, children often emulate their parents, and she has been trying to instill as much wisdom in Max and Emme as possible before they begin their college careers.

Asked to share parenting advice, Lopez said, “They do what they see you do. It’s not so much what you tell them all the time. Even though I’m trying to download everything I’ve ever learned in my life, every lesson I’ve ever [learned], to them right now before they leave in August … I still feel like who you are as a person, how you act, what they see you do, if you work hard, they become more hard workers.”

“They mimic you in this weird way and learn from you, even though they act like they’re opposite [to] you,” the actress continued. “My kids [are like], ‘I don’t want to be anything like you. I want to have my own path.’ They see this persona, it’s such a thing, But I also see them … not mimic, but just pick up things that are the good traits about you.”

Where Do Exes Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Stand Now? What They've Said

In May, Lopez admitted to getting tearful on a regular basis in the lead-up to her twins’ respective high school graduations.

“Tomorrow, one of them graduates. Don’t talk about it ’cause we start crying. I’ve been crying for two months,” she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“When I tell you, the tears … two days it took me to write those things,” she said of writing ads for the twins’ yearbooks.

The “Jenny From the Block” singer said she plans to personally move the children into their college dorm rooms later this summer, but she also admitted that she hopes they might want to return home.

“We’re going to pack up their rooms here, and they’re going to take all of the things that they want to take to their dorm. And then they’re gonna realize that their dorms are too small and they’re gonna miss home, I hope, and want to come back real soon,” Lopez said. “That’s my plan.”

New York Knicks player Jose Alvarado nearly knocked out former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg during Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals.

The Knicks point guard, 28, collided with the politician, 84, in a scary moment during the fourth quarter of the all-important game at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Monday, June 8.

Alvarado was charging after a ball when he went flying into the first row, seemingly toppling over Bloomberg from his courtside seat. Several nearby fans immediately reached over to check on Bloomberg, including NFL legend Eli Manning and New York Yankees favorite Derek Jeter.

As Alvarado emerged from the entanglement, he was patting Bloomberg’s knee and asking if he was alright. The former mayor seemed shaken but nodded “yes” to Alvarado as action on the court resumed play.

“As Alvarado dives into the stands, he checks with former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg,” play-by-play announcer Mike Breen explained to ABC viewers.

Analyst Richard Jefferson then joked, “You never know who you’ll run into at a Knick game!”

The collision may have been an omen for a difficult quarter ahead for the Knicks, as they went on to lose 115-111 to the San Antonio Spurs. (The Knicks still lead the 2026 NBA finals 2-1 going into Thursday’s Game 4 at Madison Square Garden.)

Monday’s game was eventful as Cardi B performed her hits “Bodega Baddie” and “Bodak Yellow” during a special halftime show at the world’s most famous arena.

President Donald Trump also attended Game 3 along with his granddaughter, Kai Trump. The New York City crowd gave Trump a less-than-friendly welcome as he was showered with boos when shown on the jumbotron before Monday’s game.

Prior to Game 3, conservative activist Ann Coulter railed against Trump attending the game because of how it would impact businesses around Madison Square Garden.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Trolls Vivek Ramaswamy After Knicks Sweep Cavaliers

“Of all the selfish, narcissistic things Trump has done, attending MSG to see the Knicks play in person Monday night is the absolute worst,” Coulter, 64, wrote via X on Sunday, June 7. “20,000 attendees will be MASSIVELY inconvenienced for all the extra security, the Knicks Watch Party at Garden Is canceled, thousands of extra law enforcement officers will be required (paid for by taxpayers), traffic will be a disaster — all so he can sit in the Garden rather than watch the game on TV.”

Trump reportedly left his luxury box with around seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter. He had been sitting with Knicks owner James Dolan after receiving a personal invite to attend the NBA Finals game.

Other notable public figures in attendance for Game 3 included Knicks superfan Timothée Chalamet, Jay-Z, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay, Larry David and current  New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
